Hi everyone,We're happy to report that after working closely with Apple and intensive testing, we are kicking off a public beta test cycle focusing solely on the compatibility of the current TRAKTOR software and hardware with macOS Sierra. If you are interested in helping, please head to CenterCodeto find out more! The TRAKTOR Team So I am happy to say that after such a LOOOOONG time I finally found the solution to this issue.I was having insane dropouts when using Windows 7 with TSP 1.2.7 and Audio 8 DJ (Any driver version)So here are the steps:1.
I checked my system with DPC Latency checker which indicated that there are some drivers that can potentially cause dropouts.2. I then checked LatencyMon and found that there is a file called nvlddmkm.sys which is related to the NVIDIA card driver.
It was taking an insane 18ms execution time.3. I disabled the card and the dropouts stopped! But I was without a graphics card driver. After a bit of looking around I found out that there is a service called NVIDA PowerMizer: The ultimate goal of PowerMizer technology is to optimize power use for the longest battery life in a notebook PC while providing the performance necessary for the task at hand.
Some office applications like word processors and spreadsheets require less processing than is necessary for an immersive 3D gaming experience or for viewing a crystal clear high definition video. PowerMizer technology will intelligently adapt itself to suit the performance needs of the application. This is kind of like what Intel has to limit the CPU computing power based on what applications are running, in other words, it's a power management process for your graphics card which can cause spikes in your CPU usage - YOU DON'T WANT THIS.To disable the PowerMizer, here's what you have to do:(You may want to back up your registry first)1.Open up Regedit and go toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlVideo********0The *'s will be random numbers.
There will be a few of them, pick the "0000" folder with the most keys in it.2.Create the 4 Powermizer keys (these will all be DWORD):PerfLevelSrcPowerMizerEnablePowermizerLevelPowermizerLevelAC3.Change the values (double click on them) to:PerfLevelSrc nvidia powermizer disable windows 7 0PowermizerLevel 1PowermizerLevelAC 14.Reboot and Powermizer will be disabled! After this process, I ran LatencyMon again and the nvlddmkm.sys file is only taking up 0.2-0.3 ms in execution.Problem solved, the dropouts should be gone!Hope this helps you! That's why we have these forums to share information, as someone who suffered these dropouts for more than a year, I am happy that other people can now find the solution, provided that they are using NVIDIA cards.
I'm fairly certain that it's affecting a lot of people! P.S. for those of you who don't want to fiddle with Registry settings, you can also disable the PowerMizer feature using an application called "PowerMizer Switch" it can be downloaded at this link: https://www.box.net/shared/v7jpoateoq ok i have a nvidia geforce 310m card on my lenovo laptop, and after running latencymon the nvlddmkm.sys is the only driver thats causing my dpc spikes.
I tried the powermizer switch but that didnt seem to work.will this fix work instead do you think? how is it different to the switch that you have posted? maybe i chose the wrong options of the switch, if so which option is the correct one? The solution should work for Windows XP as well. Here's what I recommend to do:1. Go into the Registry and delete the values you created:PerfLevelSrcPowerMizerEnablePowermizerLevelPowermizerLevelACReboot your computer.2.
Go in to NVIDIA's website and download the latest display driver available for your card, it should be 260.99After I installed this driver I noticed that the issue was solved, without having to disable PowerMizer.3. However, just to be sure, download PowerMizer Manager, it's a better application that can disable this service for you, you can get it here:https://somemorebytes.com/wp/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=3When you open the PW Manager, it should tell you that it did not find any settings and will ask you if you want to create settings, click "Yes", you should then be able to see the settings and make sure that the "Enable PowerMizer" checkbox is not checked.4.
Click on "Apply and Reboot" and then check DPC and LatencyMon.Hopefully, your issue should be solved.Let me know if that helped. classified - thanks for all your help - it seems as though were getting closer to a solution!my laptop runs on windows 7 btw and i have already downloaded and installed driver 260.99.anyway, ill have a go at deleting the entries later and then downloading the powermizer app to see if that worksif not, can anyone link me to the windows vga driver?
im not that fussed on the second screen option anyway and dont use the laptop for games nvidia powermizer disable windows 7 the graphix card doesnt need to be run to full capabilities!this is really frustrating, i feel sorry for Many of nVidia's moble GPU's use a technology called Powermizer to dynamically underclock the GPU in order to reduce heat and save battery life. Sometime's this causes issues with performance (stuttering), reduced performance (low FPS), and such. The manual solution is to go into the reg, disable powermizer, and reboot.
This program does that for you, allowing you to disable powermizer on battery and/or AC power easily. I've been using this program for a couple years now and I highly recommend it.Credit to:https://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=273276Download Link v1.2: Powermizer Switch 1.2"Hope you enjoy it . this app is tested on XP, Vista, Windows7 and working 100%Knows issues:- Does not work with UAC turned on. I had to register and post to thank you for this.
I tried every freaking thing imaginable; flashing chip set, disabling dangerous amounts of devices in device manager, updating all drivers and more. I was ready to give up until I tried this and it solved all audio stuttering and spikes in dpc latency checker.I run Win 7 64 bit retail Home Premium, Nvidia 9600m GT (using latest drivers), E-mu 0202 USB Audio Card.Halle-freakin-lujah! I also registered just to express my gratitude.

The last few driver releases from nVidia have introduced an annoying bug where your drivers downclock your graphics card WHILE you're playing.RivaTuner Download Link:https://goo.gl/uMRn System Specs:MSI ID2 MS-1651P84009600M GT 512MB2x2GB DDR2 800320GB WD Scorpio Black 7200RPMVista Busniess 64-bitOk, so I verified it with GPU-Z it's dropping my clock speed whenever I put it on battery power.
How can I disable this or get it fixed. I have the latest nVidia drivers.Update: Just found out its due to Powermizer. I've tried the regedit trick to change it but still no go. I've also changed the service for NVIDIA Display Driver Services to Manual. Also, I've tried the Powermizer Switch program and when I tried using that it screwed up my drivers and would only do 16-bit and I had to reinstall.Anyone know how to disable it? It looks to me like we have a notebook, power saving options are first located in the bios and the os second C1E support enhanced halt state, down clock cpu while on battery ect, check power options in bios first ,then mess with the software in windows. Okay, now I'm not so sure it's powermizer's problem.
I have it set on High Performance. The only option in the High Performance and BIOS settings is PCI Express Link-State Power Management and that's off. You know those "problem" mobile chipsets for NV? WELL, one of the "fixes" was for many vendors to just force powermizer for many machines. In fact, with the regular drivers, it makes it almost impossible to turn it off in the settings. That being said, the registry hacks work, but I'm forgetting where I found them.
Most likely laptopvideo2go. The thing is that it's not clocking back up when I need it. So when I'm trying to run a game it's still running at 169/100 so it lags like crazy. When it's plugged in it down clocks to 169/100 but when I run a 3D app it'll clock itself back up to the 500/800 Hi there,This thread is really old, but I'm sure some people is still bugged with the powermizer thing.Check this app.
It worked for me:https://somemorebytes.com/wp/index.php/nvpmmanager/Hope it helps someone.Bye bye. This cranks up and brings down the GPU depending on demand. The thing is its when NVIDIA clocks DOWN the GPU that you get DPC spikes (big ones)I believe in Vista and XP you can simply turn off in Control Panel. However in Windows 7 you can't.I found a tool called powermizer switch that lets you turn this off.
->> somemorebytes.comthere is another way to drastically reduce the DPC of your NVIDIA graphics card (even with powermizer turned off) - make the GPU do some real work!I know its crazy but run a latency checker and with nothing else running look at your average usec, then open WMP and run a video (coldplay scientist comes preloaded so i loop this)watch your DPC improve 100% - LITERALLY 100%I am running ITCH 1.7.1 loaded for bear at USB-145RPM etc.
I am averaging about 300usec with WMP running a video (on mute of course). If I have nothing running at all (no WMP, No ITCH, NOTHING) I can't average below 5-600usec and am above 1000usec 40% of the time.Trust me, this works! If you have an NVIDIA graphics card try this technique, you may be pleasantly surprised by the results.Cheers.
Cru FYI. i haven't confirmed this (I not at home) but I believe you need to execute the powermizer switch after each reboot.I will confirm tonight but I think that is the case. This would be a PITA cause it means switching off which requires a reboot. But its worth it. hey Keno,Mac uses NVidia but i am not aware if nvidia powermizer disable windows 7 is as sensitive to the powermizer as Win7check out this thread about Macserato.comFYI - you do not need to turn power mizer off everytime if you the install powermizer program (you may if you use the executable) For those trying this technique to lower your DPC latency check this out.with powermizer turned off I still see a slight improvement (more a stabilizing) in latency.BUT - if I leave the video on but PAUSE the video my latency gets even better!
this is so messed up but I am seeing 150 to 250 usec average right now with 1.7this to date is the lowest i have seen this yet.Test out with your latency checker and post what you findcheers This issue has been going on for quite some time now. My screen randomly goes black, usually while I'm playing games or using the browser.
It used to be just when I was using any browser, but its developed onto when I play certain games. This has ruined some progress on papers I've written (several hours lost can be quite annoying), so I decided to put all the info here to see if I could get any help on the situation. The computer is still running fine whilst the screen is black, I can even keep skype calls going and hear people talking while not seeing a thing.
The only way to get the screen to come back is to force shut it off. I've also plugged in an external monitor to test if its a hardware issue or an in system issue. It affected my machine before and after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I noticed it never nvidia powermizer disable windows 7 it on battery power. When on mains power the graphics card seems to shut down as it thinks it is overheating but it is not.The solution is to download the Nvidia PowerMizer manager software from software.informer.comCheck enable PowerMizerCheck fixed performance level select medium for both battery and mains.Check Overheat slow down override.
Select disable overheat slowdown. That's it. :o)The only thing is every times Windows 10 updates (like this morning) the PowerMizer settings are stripped out of the registry.
This morning my machine was blacking out as soon as I opened any program so I had to pull out the mains lead to get it running so I could start PowerMizer again. I have left a short cut to the program on my desk top. There is a separate issue with the Precision M6500 really overheating due to dust in the main and graphics chip heatsinks.
See here for my cure:seakayakphoto.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/dell-precision-m6500-workstation.htmlI hope this works for others.Douglas :o) " I've also plugged in an external monitor to test if its a hardware issue or an in system issue. Both screens crash indicating that its simply a system error.

Here's an article from sevenforums com: Please click on the link below:EDIT:Event logs are special files that record significant events on your computer, such as when a user logs on to the computer or when a program encounters an error.
Whenever these types of events occur, Windows records the event in an event log that you can read by using Event Viewer. Advanced users might find the details in event logs helpful when troubleshooting problems with Windows and other programs.www.sevenforums.com/./226084-event-viewer-open-use-windows-7-a.html I ran the cmd test that you said, it came up with no issues showing.
I also rather thoroughly attempted to trouble shoot and came up with some things that could be causing the issues, but no real clue as to what could be the actual issue or how to solve it. For the most part, when the screen goes black, it doesn't give any solid or consistent errors. One thing I noticed is that often it will say that a system file by the name of "***" isn't working or doesn't respond, and it just so happened to show before some crashes, but again, it wasn't the same for all times thats happened, so I doubt that its actually capturing the issue in the system files.
I've also done multiple full system virus checks, nothing came up. After about an additional hour of searching I've found this error message:The Event System sub system is supressing duplicate event log entries for a duration of 86400 second.

It allows your CPU and GPU to clock down to save energy and heat. It immediately will ramp up to 100% of the CPU or GPU when anything requests more horsepower.(This setting works well 99.9% of the time although there are few NVidia drivers that are just goofy and don't work as expected)Balanced also works differently on Battery and on AC Power, the CPU settings can be controled from the Vista 'Plan Settings' - NVidia has not fully added the UI controls to these settings for users, and they SHOULD.
So on Battery Balanced with be a bit more conservative on power.2) Power Saver - This is for getting the most out of your battery, and works quite well - pushing past XP in testing.
It sets an upper limit on the CPU, and with SOME NVidia drivers also sets a Max speed for the GPU, reducing speed, but not so much that it affects simple 3D things like the UI or Aero.Again it works more conservatively on Battery than on AC, and the 'plan' settings can be changed.3) High Performance - This is for locking your CPU and GPU at 100% speed with no power management throttling anything down. For most people 1) Balanced should work perfectly, giving you a 'cool' laptop and turning on CPU and GPU speed resources as needed.
(In performance testings Balanced should work so well it should equal the performance of High Performance, and still allow the CPU and GPU to down clock to reduce heat.)NVidia drivers tend to respect and reflect the 3 Vista settings - no matter what temperature your devices are running.
So even if your GPU is running cool, setting it on Balanced you will watch your GPU drop down t
